Hey there! I’m Shannon Cole, a writer, photographer and lifelong sports fan. I live in San Francisco where I celebrate Hockey Night in Canada every Saturday and fantasize about owning a garage full of toys that go vroom.
I have served as a writer, photographer, and editor for The Guardsman. I’m also a member of the Association of Women in Sports Media and have received recognition from the California Newspaper Publishers Association and Journalism Association of Community Colleges.
Sur la Patinoire
That funny-sounding name is French and comes from one of my favorite books, Roch Carrier’s “The Sweater”.
« Les hivers de mon enfance étaient des saisons longues, longues. Nous vivions en trois lieux : l’école, l’église et la patinoire; mais la vraie vie était sur la patinoire. »
“The winters of my childhood were long, long seasons. We lived in three places – the school, the church and the skating rink – but our real life was on the skating rink.”
It’s a quote that’s inspired me to live my real life on the skating —that is, doing what I love. That happens to be sharing my love for sports with others.
Thank you for stopping by!
